Farhad Massoudi

Founder and CEO

Farhad founded adRise with a vision that the future of TV advertising will be targeted, measurable and interactive ads, just like the web on TV. Farhad holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley.

Ivan Poza

Lead Engineer

Ivan gained his experience both in the Bay Area and in Western Europe. He's led engineering groups at financial & research institutions as well as at start-ups focused on the mobile, advertising, and social Internet spaces. He's also a strong believer in the "Tiki-taka" soccer-school of thinking.

Thomas Ahn Hicks

Business Development

Thomas leads business development and strategy, which includes everything from closing deals to picking up the trash. He focuses on partnering with film and TV content owners and Connected TV device manufacturers. Tom received his BA from the University of Notre Dame and JD from Indiana University.

Michael Ahiakpor

VP Product Management

Michael's focus is product and design. In addition to being a UI-design and interaction junkie he also leads xbox development for adRise. In his free time you might find him doing auto-cross or exploring new 'eats' in San Francisco. Prior to joining adRise Michael was at Microsoft and was a core part of the launch team for Outlook.com.

Rob Brown

Senior Front-End Engineer

Rob, an inventor at heart, took a long route to front-end software development, starting out with a degree in Industrial Design, and skills in old-school drafting and then 3d CAD. He eventually taught himself programming and went on to get patents on CAD modeling tools. These days he loves to make everything from shiny widgets on web pages to programmer tools. When he pulls himself away from his electronic gadgets, he's happy scooting around the city on his Vespa.

Brandon Yi

Junior Engineer

Brandon comes from SoCal, a small town boy with big startup dreams. Graduated with an EECS degree at UC Berkeley and applies his theoretical and philosophical acumen on an everyday basis. When Brandon isn't coding ingenious programs at adRise, he likes to drink beer and think about life.

Tim Wu

Content Operations

Tim gets paid to watch TV all day - or at least that's what he tells people. Realistically, he's the one that "puts up the magic," from encoding to bug fixing, and everything in between. He also hates burritos.

Lindsey Boyden

Visual Designer

Lindsey designs and codes for all things adRise. She holds degrees in both Fine Art and Web Design & New Media. She loves burritos.

AdRise's New In-laws: Foundation Capital And Netflix

After a customary courtship of startup and VC firm between adRise and Foundation Capital, a leading VC firm in Silicon Valley, a VC financing round resulted.

So you're asking what does adRise have to do with Foundation Capital and Netflix. Some of you may be asking "who's Foundation Capital?". Good question. We'll answer that shortly. If you're asking "What's Netflix?" — well, you might be reading the wrong blog.

Foundation Capital is a great partner for us because they've had great successful with both technology and content-focused companies. The best example is their investment in Netflix, on which they still sit on the board. I'm not sure if the analogy really works, but we're now sort of in-laws to the content-technology Goliath that is Netflix.

Foundation Capital is an investor in a lot of other great companies that are relevant to us, including Freewheel, which is standard for content owners who want to track their rights and revenue across various digital platforms. And, yes, Freewheel and adRise have done an integration already so content owners can use Freewheel to monitor and schedule their ad campaigns on Connected TVs via adRise's apps or ad SDKs.
